British-based food and drink giant is latest to sign up to GLOBALG.A.P. membership

With a global supply network and a portfolio of branded and customer-own brand products, Princes is one of Europe’s largest food and drink groups. The company has already been sourcing products from GLOBALG.A.P. certified suppliers for some time, but Princes’ GLOBALG.A.P. membership marks a further step forward in demonstrating its commitment to supporting safe and responsible agriculture.

Princes’ commitment to ethical standards

Princes has taken a proactive approach to enhancing transparency as well as social sustainability across its supply chain for some time. In particular, the company is a leading voice on tackling illegal labor in Italian agriculture. In 2018, Princes announced that 100 percent of the tomatoes processed from its Italian supply chain would soon come exclusively from farms with independent evaluation – with GLOBALG.A.P. certification and the GRASP assessment being one of the preferred choices.

GLOBALG.A.P. membership

Princes aims to further enhance awareness of and commitment to good agricultural practices among its supply chain stakeholders – not just for tomato producers in Italy, but also for producers of all types of produce around the world. Becoming a GLOBALG.A.P. member helps strengthen this objective.

“Princes is committed to respecting and championing the human rights of all those who come into contact with our operations,” says Paul Williams, Head of Ethical Trading & Human Rights at Princes, “which is why we are proud to be a GLOBALG.A.P. member.”
