Working Together
The global acceptance of GLOBALG.A.P. Certification is largely due to the input of many different stakeholders from around the globe, who contribute proposals and recommendations to the standard development process.
Much of the specific technical feedback comes from more than 100,000 audits worldwide performed by hundreds of inspectors and auditors from more than 155 GLOBALG.A.P.-approved certification bodies (CB). To coordinate and supervise CB activities, GLOBALG.A.P. established the Certification Body Committee (CBC).
The CBC is made up of experts employed by certification bodies that are GLOBALG.A.P. associate members and ISO Guide 65 accredited to at least one GLOBALG.A.P. scope. The committee discusses GLOBALG.A.P. implementation issues and provide feedback, as well as represents the activities of the CBs within the GLOBALG.A.P. System. The GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat supports and facilitates the work of the CBC. Proposals for change put forward by the CBC are reviewed and finally approved by the Technical Committees. The GLOBALG.A.P. Standard Manager regularly informs the Technical Committees about the progress of the CBC.
In early 2012 a South American CBC sub-group was established in response to a request by the South American certification bodies to form a regional sub-group that represents their local sector interests. CBC Latin America exchanges contents of their meetings with CBC Central on a regular basis.
