EurepGAP establishes the partnership principle between retailers and producers and
presents trial results of its Fruit and Vegetables Protocol.
Bologna 2001
EurepGAP receives the first ISO 65 accreditation for Fruit and Vegetables and
starts granting its first farmer certificates.
Madrid 2003
EurepGAP presents Version 2 of the Fruit and Vegetables Protocol as the result of
the revision process, announces the start of the Flowers & Ornamentals Standard, and launches
its new transparent benchmarking procedure.
Amsterdam 2004
EurepGAP launches its standards for (Green) Coffee and Aquaculture in October 2004
and issues the first accredited certificates to farms based on the Integrated Farm Assurance
Standard.
Paris 2005
The first EurepGAP Feed Reference Standard is published and the 2005 version of Integrated
Farm Assurance is launched. The first national livestock schemes add their checklists to the
EurepGAP Benchmarking tool.
Prague 2006
Almost 300 delegates from 41 countries discuss and make proposals for the future
direction and content of the 2007 version of the EurepGAP Standard.
Bangkok 2007
A one-day workshop for key stakeholders finalizes the consultation process for the EurepGAP
Shrimp Standard. EurepGAP also announces its name change to GLOBALG.A.P.
Cologne 2008
GLOBALG.A.P. introduces activities to support smallholder implementation and
intensifies the dialogue with government and non-governmental organizations.
TOUR 2009
GLOBALG.A.P. goes on tour for the first time, travelling to 5 continents to reach
out to its customers. In addition to the GLOBALG.A.P. annual conference, the GLOBALG.A.P. tour
offers retailers, producers and associates the opportunity to visit a conference that is closer to
their location. Cities visited: Nairobi, Montevideo, Kuala Lumpur, Washington D.C. and Athens.
London 2010
Close to 500 delegates from 50 plus countries gather for GLOBALG.A.P.’s SUMMIT 2010
at London’s Hilton Metropole Hotel on 7-8 October. During the SUMMIT 2010 in London, the
GLOBALG.A.P. Sector Committees present Version 4 of the GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance
Standard as the most widely consulted, innovative and science-based version yet. The SUMMIT 2010
also marks a special milestone in GLOBALG.A.P.’s history as the organization’s 10th global
conference.
TOUR 2011
After the enormous success of the TOUR 2009, GLOBALG.A.P. decides to have a
conference tour every second year. For TOUR 2011, the GLOBALG.A.P. team travels to 6 cities around
the world - New Delhi, Cape Town, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Warsaw and Atlanta - to collect feedback
on the implementation of Version 4 of the GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance Standard.
Madrid 2012
The 11th GLOBALG.A.P. Conference returns to Spain this year. The SUMMIT 2012
spotlights a debate that simply couldn’t be more important to all our futures: how to deliver food
safety and sustainability now and in the coming years.
TOUR 2013
For the 3rd time GLOBALG.A.P. held a TOUR all around the world. With the support of local
partners, the GLOBALG.A.P. Team organized 8 stops in Tucuman - Argentina, Tel Aviv - Israel, Quito
- Ecuador, Capetown - South Africa, Harbin - China, Madrid - Spain, Myazaki City - Japan, and
Hoogstraten - Belgium. The result: valuable input for the revision of the GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated
Farm Assurance Standard for Version 5!
The GLOBALG.A.P. SUMMIT 2014 hosted its 12th conference in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. This exciting event on sustainability, traceability, food safety, animal welfare and social & environmental responsibility was the perfect place to promote Good Agricultural Practices in one of the fastest growing regions in the world!

Lima 2018
This was the first time that the conference was held in the Americas. The latest
developments in food safety and sustainability, Good Agriculture and Aquaculture Practices, and the
future of the industry were discussed. GLOBALG.A.P. SUMMIT 2018 attracted 400 delegates from over
50 countries around the world. The conference was officially opened by the Prime Minister of Peru.
With 80 speakers, the program focussed on creating new markets for responsibly grown food and
flowers, finishing with the successful outcome of 11 signatories for the Call to Action to Prevent
the Destructive Spread of the Banana Pathogen TR4.

More than 100 delegates attended 2 stops organized with the support of local partners in
Abidjan and Korhogo (Ivory Coast).
World Consultation Tour 2020
GLOBALG.A.P. has undertaken the most comprehensive stakeholder consultation ever attempted
for its set of standards. As part of the public consultation and alongside public comments and
field trials, more than 800 delegates attended 214 World Consultation Tour meetings and voiced
their opinions online in 15 different languages, discussing and shaping GLOBALG.A.P.’s version 6 as
well as its changes towards the future of good agricultural practices.
